No dance 11/25; East Coast replaced with Hustle for November
- The November 25 dance will not be held due to Thanksgiving the next day.
- As an experiment, the November 2009 East Coast Swing lessons will be replaced with Hustle lessons instead. These will be drop-in lessons (not a progressive series); no experience necessary! Come out and learn this fun dance!
Dances every Wednesday!
Every Wednesday in Northampton, Massachusetts, there is a rockin' dance with something for everyone. We have lessons in various styles of dance at 6:00pm and 7:00pm, followed by general dancing from 8:30pm-11pm. Come for any combination of lessons and the dance!
The 6:00pm lessons include beginning Lindy Hop, and intermediate Lindy Hop, while at 7:00pm, you may choose from East Coast Swing (replaced with Hustle in November), West Coast Swing, and salsa. The general dance includes music from all the styles.
Both Lindy Hop lessons and the West Coast Swing lessons are progressive month-long series which begin on the first Wednesday of the month. The East Coast Swing and salsa lessons are geared towards beginners and can be taken any week of the month.
Our next dance is November 11, 2009, so come out and dance with us this Wednesday. To protect our dance floor, please bring a change of clean, dry shoes to dance in. See you on the dance floor!
About our dance
One of the goals of our dance is to promote a safe and friendly environment where all people are welcome. We work very hard towards this goal and we have structured our dance and lessons with this concept in mind.
So if you're interested in meeting new people or just learning to dance in a fun and pressure-free environment, you've found the right place. No partner necessary!
Prices and times:
- 6:00-7:00pm: lessons in beginning Lindy Hop (month-long series) and intermediate Lindy Hop (month-long series). ($10 including dance, $8 for students with ID)
- 7:00-8:30pm: lessons in East Coast Swing (replaced with Hustle in November 2009), West Coast Swing (month-long series), and salsa. ($10 including dance, $8 for students with ID)
- 8:30-11pm: Dance with a DJ playing a mixture of swing, Lindy Hop, ballroom, hustle, and Latin music. ($5 for the dance only, $3 for students with ID).
- Two lessons and the dance: $15; $10 for students.
